Hi everyone
I’m new here and have a few questions about the setup I inherited from a friend.
The system model is Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI, with an Intel i7-9700K CPU, 3600 MHz, 8 cores, and 8 logical processors.
It comes with a 256GB SSD and 32GB RAM (two 16GB modules).
Initially, after the NVME installation, only the A2 slot was functional, while B2 was showing an unknown DIMM of 0GB and 2000 MHz. Windows only recognized 16GB. This led to memory errors, crashes, and blue screens.

I found out that NVME compatibility problems exist with this board, but replacing it didn’t solve the issue. I’ve tried other modules and even a single DIMM, but nothing works properly.
I’m currently running the latest BIOS update for this board. Anyone have suggestions on what to investigate next?

NVMe shouldn't be related to the memory. I might need to reposition the CPU, which involves taking out the cooler and reapplying thermal paste. My thought is that you likely pressed too hard on the CPU cooler while handling the memory, causing it to shift slightly and lose contact with the pins in the slots.
