I'm having trouble opening League of Legends with the shortcut on my taskbar.
Yesterday I encountered an issue opening League of Legends from my taskbar, receiving frequent error messages. I attempted a reinstall, verified full permissions for all users, and followed online advice, but the problem persists. If anyone has suggestions or knows the cause, please share how to resolve it.

or whatever drive you set up on

I also have these icons that others are using. The shortcut points to E:\Riot Games\League of Legends\LeagueClient.exe. It's not a big deal, but when I click the new logo with the blue color, it opens the old one. I don't want both league shortcuts on my taskbar, but if there are too many, I'm not sure what to do.
I faced the same issue before discovering a solution. Here’s how I resolved it:
1. Press Win + R on your keyboard
type %appdata% and press Enter
2. Navigate to this path:
Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Quick Launch > User Pinned > ImplicitAppShortcuts
There, you can remove the ImplicitAppShortcuts (or the entire Internet Explorer folder like I did)
After that, the broken icon vanished, leaving only the correct one 🎉
