Hello. I previously bought a prebuilt PC and have faced problems with microphones that suddenly fail. They appear in the control panel and sound but emit a persistent light noise. For my Phillips monitor, I need to uninstall and reinstall Realtek audio drivers for it to function properly—only after doing so does the computer restart. Recently, I bought an Oculus Rift S, which sometimes works but mostly fails. It doesn’t detect motion sensors. Occasionally, if I keep using it, it eventually functions. The same happens with my headphones and audio. If I keep reinstalling software and restarting the computer, there’s a slim chance my audio, motion sensors, or microphone might start working again. I’m unsure where to begin or what this sounds like. I update Windows regularly and all drivers are current. It seems every device connected to my PC keeps malfunctioning. Here are my specifications if that might help.

I also faced issues with the microphone and on-board Realtek, consistently experiencing background noise or hiss. Using a USB sound card resolved the problem completely, eliminating all microphone static and noise—this was a significant advantage since it removed the need to manage Realtek drivers, which frequently caused issues after major Windows updates. The USB sound card proved highly reliable even after updates.
