I’m having trouble getting Pop OS to preserve my display settings, and I’m also struggling with the resolution issue.
I have a 4:3 monitor (an onyx boox max lumi) and Pop OS only supports 1080p 16:9 and 720p 16:9 from its display settings. I attempted to adjust the NVIDIA display options via the command line, but it didn't resolve the issue. Now I've modified the settings manually and managed to get a 4:3 resolution at 1440x1080, though it doesn't persist in Pop OS. The actual monitor resolution is 2200x1650, which is much higher than what's being shown. I'm unsure how to fix the Mirror mode so it behaves like it does on Windows, where the 4:3 display appears correctly and the 16:9 version shows black bars on the sides. I've tried changing the resolution to 1920x1440, but it didn't work either. The display settings I saved in NVIDIA disappear after a reboot, and the new Pop OS menu doesn't display the correct resolution options. I'm not sure what to do next.
