I'm having trouble configuring the RAM size to 3600, but it still boots.
Usually I keep the default BIOS configurations. I just re-flashed my BIOS to the newest non-beta release. My motherboard and RAM use automatic settings that default to 2100 MHz. When I try to change it to 3600 MHz, the system restarts past the BIOS prompt, so I revert to automatic. I rarely adjust these parameters, but I think it would help if I could run the RAM at its rated speed. Any advice would be appreciated. I’m fine with the current setup, but higher speeds could improve performance. If I decide to keep it as is, that’s okay too. Thanks!
Have you adjusted the settings manually to 3600Mhz? Did you also modify the timing and voltage? It’s a good idea to enable XMP/XAMP if you haven’t already.
I used the highlighted option in the attached image. I chose from several frequency settings without adjusting others. You might want to start with 3200 or a lower setting before testing with XAMP.
There are numerous options beyond just the MHz value, which means adjusting only the MHz rarely succeeds. XAMP prompts the memory system to suggest suitable settings, making it more reliable. I recommend saving and restarting now (using the XAMP configuration shown) and testing it. After saving and exiting, wait a short time before rebooting to allow the system to initialize properly.
You're asking about enabling XAMP and keeping the rest unchanged.
The reference to "with the XAMP set as you have in the screenshot" means matching the configuration shown in that image.
The process appears to function correctly. It's currently at 3600. Appreciate the confirmation!
