As mentioned in the title, I can no longer achieve a low enough ping to play. I went to sleep one night and my ping was fine, but after a few days I woke up to play again. Now my ping prevents me from playing. It has dropped from around 40 to about 80 with packet loss, and now it’s constantly fluctuating between 1000 and 450, with occasional normal pings. I’ve tried letting it sit for a while, but it still won’t give me a playable ping. The ping tests keep showing over 1000, and it doesn’t drop even after shutting down my PC. I’m really frustrated with Microsoft because, despite disabling auto-updates, they forced an update on my system during a game session the night before I turned it off. After restarting, it returned to normal, but now after a few days it doesn’t give me an acceptable ping.

Reset your modem/router?
Explore alternative hardware to determine if the issue lies with the connection or your provider?
Reach out to your ISP?
You'll need to investigate something beyond the computer to pinpoint the problem.

checked all three and there are no issues according to the century link.

i got it i restricted the bandwidth directly to the pc to 5gbs and it stopped having problems but once i removed the limit it started lagging again.
