I have a concern about the game Modern Warfare Warzone. I receive 100% CPU usage and it frequently stutters, freezes, and even crashes. It's quite frustrating to play.

I noticed that recently, games have been running much slower, sometimes dropping from 144 to 90 frames. This is why I usually limit the game settings.

I experienced a similar problem with Fortnite as well. I played it at the lowest settings and sometimes lowered the resolution to improve performance.

At first, I thought my cooler was the issue, but nothing changed much. Battlefield 1 worked fine, but Fortnite still had the same problems.

I’m unable to overclock the CPU with this motherboard. I’m unsure whether the problem lies with my CPU, RAM, GPU, or even the motherboard itself.

It would be great if someone could advise me on what to do or update to improve my performance.

Yes, I’ve cleaned my PC using just an air blower—no water or anything else.

I also suspect there might be an issue with frame time, but I can’t confirm it yet.

Here are my specs:
- CPU: Intel I5 6600K (not overclocked)
- GPU: Manli GTX 1070 Ultimate
- RAM: Crucial 8GB Single DDR4 1066MHz 16GB Dual-Channel
- Motherboard: ASRock H110M-HDV
- HDD: 1863GB OOS2000G (SATA), 2TB
- Monitor: DELL (144Hz, 2440 x 1440)
- Power Supply: SL 700 plus
- CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
- OS: Windows 10

I have had this PC for almost three years.

Hoo-boy...
This isn't an easy issue, but it could be more complex.
1) Stuttering
-Warzone stands out from most other games today because it can utilize UP TO 12 cpu threads. Most current titles use 6-8 threads.
The 6600K only has 4. This game won’t run smoothly with this CPU, that’s for sure.
-I don’t notice any references to CPU/GPU thermal limits.
6600K doesn’t begin dropping clocks until 100C, but it’s usually advised to keep it below 85C for regular use.
Ignoring power restrictions, most 1070s models start dropping clocks around 83C. 80C or less is better.
2) Freezing/crashes
-GTX 1070 with a power supply that fits a home or office PC is ideal. This setup wasn’t designed for gaming graphics cards.
Internal component quality...

This isn't a straightforward issue, but possibly more complex.
1) Stuttering
-Warzone operates differently from most current games, utilizing up to 12 CPU threads. Most recent titles rely on 6-8 threads. The 6600K only provides 4 threads. This game won’t run smoothly with such a CPU, that’s for sure.
-I notice no mention of CPU or GPU thermal limits.
6600K doesn’t begin throttling clocks until 100°C, but it’s usually advised to keep temperatures below 85°C for regular use.
Ignoring power constraints, most systems from the 1070s start throttling at around 83°C. Lower is better.
2) Freezing or crashes
-GTX 1070 with a power supply designed for a home or office PC is ideal. This setup wasn’t intended for gaming graphics cards.
Internal hardware quality matters more than wattage.
-From your input, it seems you combined RAM specs incorrectly: "RAM : Crucial 8GB Single DDR4 1066MHz 16,0GB Dual-Channel (2x8gb)"
Memory stability is only assured as advertised. Mixing or altering components can lead to instability at any moment.
-Your maintenance of motherboard, operating system, and other devices is crucial. Updates are your duty.
Stability problems may stem from outdated drivers.
-Condition of the storage drive could also be a factor.

It's your CPU, you need more than four cores... I've noticed in my gaming group that several people experienced the same problem with the new CoD MW. I recommend switching to at least an 8-thread CPU with four cores. This should match what your motherboard supports. If you can afford it, upgrading to a Ryzen 3600 will greatly improve performance.

Your 1070 should handle the game reasonably well once the CPU issue is resolved. However, you might want to run everything on low or off settings, particularly in shadows. The main impact should be on textures—graphics quality may drop slightly, but the game will run much smoother. The change in visuals won't be too noticeable during multiplayer.

As Phaaze88 mentioned, mixing RAM sticks can also cause problems; it's best to use a matched kit. Also, replacing your HDD with an SSD will boost performance, especially for map loading and texture downloads.

Can I replace my current motherboard with the B550F and 3700X using an older PSU, and is it safe to do so without causing damage until I install a new PSU? Your PSU seems to be working properly, but some people advise against using an old PSU on a new motherboard.
