Today, I became very happy as my brand new Rift got here, only to then realize that there's this big bed that's mine that's in the middle of the room that I have zero clue how to manage. My room is currently the only play space as I live in a small apartment, so if any of you have ideas on how to manage a large obstruction in VR or know a way I could minimise the footprint of it, please let me know.

Get a curved ultrawide or 4K display, pair it with a comfortable armchair, sit directly in front, and use your PS4 controller. Finish the setup and call it done.

The bed frame is removed, leaving the mattress intact on the floor. Alternatively, it can be used as a surface for sitting in VR.

See, I would do that, but it's a metal frame and there really isn't a lot of working space

It's really appealing, but I still like playing Job Simulator and SuperHot VR.

I took out the frame from my bed at work and during VR sessions, I would tilt the mattress and box spring toward the wall.

Even with a metal frame, you can reduce the size using basic tools.

Absolutely, superhot vr is the top VR experience. Could you adjust the bed 90 degrees along the Y-axis so it faces the wall? This would save space, though the exact fit still depends on the mattress.

Shrink rays and magic remain tightly guarded subjects. With the limited details you shared, the most sensible approach seems to be exploring VR adult content soon. Adjusting the bed could become unnecessary... Freedom to gesture is more important than physical space (and getting used to staying still makes waving safer). If movement is needed, relocating the bed elsewhere is the only viable choice. Even a smaller bed won’t make much difference if it’s in the center of your room. I reside in an apartment under 20 square meters, with about 10 square meters of usable floor space. My VR area is roughly three square meters (1.5x2 meters), despite having a bed, TV stand, closet, desk, and two seating options. Finding the optimal setup is all about fitting what actually works.
