i've been through warzone 2 and experienced sudden drops from 200 fps to around 2 fps for a few seconds. after that, input lag becomes noticeable for about 5 to 10 seconds. i just set up my first pc—disabled xmp—and it helped a bit, but i'm not sure what else to try. i have a 3090 ti i7 12700f asus maximus z790 hero and am playing on balanced settings. anyone have suggestions?

Turning off XMP may not work unless your motherboard has a memory-related problem. Check if your power supply is strong enough for the processor and the 3090 Ti.

I'll check the bios for any updates. I've got the newest drivers installed and my EVGAs P+ PSU is running at 1600 watts.

You're looking at a minimum of around 14 gigabytes of RAM required for Warzone 2, mainly because the game isn't very efficient in using memory.

It's all about Warzone2. Similar to Fortnite, there are frequent hiccups, but players often focus on simple fixes. They usually just wait for updates to resolve the problems.

It's time to adjust the settings yourself. Warzone 2 has problems with DDR5, so changing the timings manually usually works for many players. Plus, the game tends to be rushed and isn't fully finished, which is common with many AAA titles.

The game is heavily CPU bound and it runs like an ass on even the best HW in some cases. I've seen people with RTX 4090 and i9 13900k getting drops to 1-3FPS at times. Nothing you can do about it really, the game just runs bad. It also crashes randomly for many people. Consider this game a BETA for at least another few months or it will drive you insane if you're looking for a smooth experience. Make sure to disable Texture Streaming at least as that usually causes the most amount of issues.
