What format are you employing? This really shapes the recording process and often when details matter more than specs. x264vfw works well, but there are also lossless options that perform excellently—significantly better than LAGORITH. It’s not terrible for 720p at 60fps or 1080p at 30fps, but it doesn’t shine at 1080p at 50/60fps.
I've encountered this problem before with Total Biscuit and a few weeks ago he shared a codec on Twitter that avoids dropping frames. I tried it out and it performed exceptionally well, so you might want to give it a shot. It functions similarly to Lagarith but is significantly more efficient for better recording quality. You can download it here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Ut-Video-Codec-Suite After installation, open Dxtory and configure the codec to YUV422 BT.709 VCM for optimal results. Best of luck!
Video is now playing without issues. Also, anyone familiar with this? How can I allocate more video memory for the game? I’m using two 290x cards in CrossFireX via AMD Catalyst Control Center, but when opening a game like CoD AW it only shows 4GB RAM instead of the full 8GB available on my system.
Video RAM is separate from your main system RAM. Also, unlike SLI crossfire which combines memory across cards, it only utilizes the RAM on a single card.
