I'm experiencing difficulties in launching Minecraft at 240 fps on 1080p with the standard configuration.
I recently obtained Minecraft Java because some friends had been playing it, and I was let down to discover it performs poorly on my system. Checking average FPS numbers shows a significant gap compared to what I expect. With the default graphics options, I’m seeing roughly 100-230 FPS locally in singleplayer, but it often falls well under 60 when playing online. This performance difference isn’t related to my PC—it easily reaches 160-300 FPS on DOOM (2016) with ultra settings, and around 85-165 on Rust at high settings. Any advice or suggestions would be very helpful. My system specs are: Ryzen 7 3700X, 16GB RAM at 3200MHz, RTX 2060 Super with an OC of +200MHz on the core and +600 MHz on memory.
Try using optifine. Disable or lower settings that don't noticeably impact visuals. Also view a tutorial on allocating 4GB of RAM for Minecraft, DO NOT exceed 4GB unless you're using big mod packs as exceeding 4GB begins to hurt performance.
