It began about three months ago while I was playing Alan Wake II. Suddenly, my monitor went dark and displayed a "No signal" message. My MSI motherboard emitted a long and short beep sequence, and even after pressing the reset button it repeated those three sounds. Only when I pressed the power button did it start up correctly.
Later, I discovered that underlocking and undervolting helped resolve the problem. After that, my system didn’t crash with AW II, though games like Horizon Zero Dawn could still cause issues. Some demanding titles such as Cyberpunk or Frontiers of Pandora worked well for hours, even with an overclocked card drawing over 320 watts.
I also tried Death Stranding because it uses the same Decima engine as HZD, but it ran smoothly for five hours. Conversely, Horizon Zero Dawn could crash quickly, even after limiting frames to 90 at 1440p. AC Valhalla was another option—it crashed only after about an hour and a half.
I attempted several fixes: a DDU session, updated drivers, cleaned the setup, checked cables, refreshed chipset drivers, and ran stress tests with Furmark and Cinebench. My PSU is a Thermaltake iRGB 850W Platinum, which comfortably handled around 500 watts. Both CPUs and GPUs stayed within 70-72°C during testing.
My card still has warranty coverage, but it’s unlikely they’d spend hours trying to reproduce the issue. I wouldn’t recommend forcing a game like Horizon Zero Dawn just because it crashed my rig—LOL.
Which motherboard model are you using? Have you confirmed the postcode beep codes yet? Usually three beeps indicate a RAM issue. I recommend testing the RAM before submitting the card for warranty.
