I'm experiencing an unusual issue right now.
the issue i'm facing involves two games that frequently crash without a blue screen. i attempt to launch them and immediately restart my computer. monster hunter rise and league of legends are affected. all drivers are updated, files were reinstalled. i performed a fresh install of windows, added new ram, ran a virus scan, overheating wasn't the cause. i've also tried other popular titles like hogwarts, monster hunter world, and assassin's creed valhalla. no problems there. pc components: 10900kf asus z490 a-gaming mb gig 4090 g-skill tridentz 3600 ddr4 32gb evga psu 1000w titanium thermaltake aio 280wds 500gb boot drive wd black 2.0 2tb wd 2tb ssd log files: distributedcom 10016 dns client events 1014
Safe mode > DDU that driver and revert to a previous version. Check the forum discussions – it seems there’s a lot of instability with 4090s. Personally, I rarely update GPU drivers unless I’m playing a cutting-edge PC game or a major new update is coming. Usually, I only change them once or twice at most. Some games might show popups saying your driver is outdated, but those are usually harmless. I stick to the BIOS philosophy for GPUs: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. AKA, keep it stable.
I completed a clean update on the driver before you reached out. Your assistance was greatly appreciated!
