I'm good to go. My 2010 PC still runs with the i7-970, which has handled high temperatures well. After about four years of regular use, it was put on the shelf but still functions. I occasionally use it, especially when playing with a friend who has an older system. I haven't experienced any CPU or motherboard issues so far. A friend had one around seven years old and it didn't fail him, possibly because of the better quality components. Unknowns though...
