Hey, I typically make a big upgrade each year. Last year I switched from an Nvidia 1660 to a 3080ti. This year or next I plan to upgrade my CPU, memory, and RAM since DDR5 is currently affordable, and I think my existing components are limiting my GPU performance. Current configuration: CPU i7 11700k, 32GB (4x8GB) RAM with 3600G.Skill RGB. I’m not sure what’s paired with my GPU. I’d also like more than one USB controller. I stream and play VR frequently, so I’ve maxed out most ports before. The RAM part is simple for me. I’m open to trying Team Blue again or even Team Red with my CPU! Any advice would be great.

You have the option to improve, but the 11700k isn't a terrible CPU. It was released around the same time as the Rtx 3080ti, and your setup offers a fairly balanced mix of CPU and GPU power. Swapping the CPU will boost performance, though it might not always be necessary unless you notice lag or play simulation-heavy games where the X3d features are essential. If you're spending $400-500 and feel the 3080ti is limiting your experience, upgrading could be justified for that investment.

Considering a budget over 500 USD for an upgrade to boost FPS by 10% in certain games at 1440p, the top choice would be the 7800x3d VR. Expect no improvement due to the headsets' high resolutions.

I'm mainly upgrading for smoother streaming and video editing. The CPU often struggles with long projects like a 30-minute video. It might be my RAM issue too. I was considering a CPU upgrade to DDR5 since it could make finding what I need easier. If I'm not really focused on this right now, I'll still prioritize improving my graphics card and memory. Right now I'm playing at 1080p, but I plan to buy the Samsung Odyssey G8 during Black Friday on Amazon when it's on sale. It has a 3:440 resolution, 1440p, 175Hz, OLED display, and HDR support.
