So, I've been using this normally at 1080p on a 4k display with a decent frame rate on a 1050ti. But when I exit the game to check something in the browser, the FPS drops to around 10. I've tried fixing it by randomly switching between windowed and fullscreen, pressing alt+enter, and double-clicking the tab, but I'm not sure what I was doing correctly. It sometimes works, other times it doesn't. I've also been playing full screen normally, getting about 50-60 fps without blur, which is surprising given the 4k monitor. When I restart the game, I experience low FPS and a blurry image again. I've downloaded the IntegerScaler but I'm not sure how it functions.

You play games in 1080p on a 4K display? That’s due to your GTX 1050 Ti. What are the remaining details about your PC, such as the PSU and CPU make and model, RAM configuration, and the exact specs? Is this issue limited to GTA, or does it affect other games too? I’m wondering if background processes or software might be consuming resources, causing the lag. Also, do you have the game installed on Steam, EGS, or directly from Rockstar’s site? What are the typical GPU and CPU temperatures during gameplay? Have you updated the latest NVIDIA drivers?

Thanks for your reply. The remaining details are unimportant since, as I mentioned, the game was functioning perfectly—only the transition from fullscreen to windowed changed a few times. This happened because I was testing for new messages from chicks on my browser. All the games in the trilogy show similar behavior. I played normally but kept switching between the game and the internet browser. I don’t think it’s related to resources; my system had a Ryzen 3600, the PSU was fine, temperatures were normal, and I was using MSI Afterburner to monitor FPS and temperatures constantly. It’s unclear why the game would change so quickly with identical specs and settings. I wasn’t sure what to do until I realized I couldn’t fix it anymore and stopped playing. Regarding the recommendation of IntegerScaler—why should you avoid it?

I made the updates and it stopped working with DX11, but testing in DX12 resolved the issue.
