I've been struggling with my gaming PC for a while now. Initially, I couldn't install anything without the OS freezing, so I reinstalled Windows and all the problematic AMD drivers. After some use, it still won't boot at all—it shows "Windows failed to boot" and offers a repair option. I've tried system repair twice, but nothing works. I reinstalled Windows again, but my USB drive isn't loading the installer. When I select a language, the window vanishes, leaving a blank blue screen. Everything loads slowly, and I'm currently playing L.A. Noire. It's frustrating, especially since I've been feeling this way lately. This situation reminds me of what happens with consoles, and I'm really desperate for help.

Could the hard drive be malfunctioning? It seems like that might be the case.

It seems unfamiliar to me. Likely a hard drive issue.

I ran a health check with HDTune before it crashed, and everything looked good. My old PS3 drive is still there, but I’m not keen on using it unless absolutely necessary.

Windows has trouble with one of your storage devices. This problem has happened many times before, and changing drives always resolved it. Consider disconnecting one or both drives, or even removing them completely.

I remember the installer mentioning the drive was empty, so you might want to swap them out tomorrow morning.

Test the hard drive to confirm its status. It seems there might be a random failure involved.

The information provided doesn't address the quality of SanDisk SSDs in general. It only mentions a specific drive you purchased. To determine if it's bad, you'd need to evaluate its performance and reliability based on your usage.

There are some nice details, though not extraordinary. (Don’t forget to click the quote button when replying so others know you responded.)

I'm not sure if you can test for bad blocks with an SSD.... Also this is one of the cons of an SSD. When it dies it just dies, no warning whatsoever/
