I’m beginning to see hesitation from potential buyers regarding my motherboard decision.
I began adjusting my budget and noticed the X570 Tomahawk was discounted. When I placed my order, its price increased by $40. Now I need to review my selections. I still prefer the X570, though I’m open to other models. Prices are MSI X570 Tomahawk $257.99, Asus TUF Gaming Plus X570 $197.00, Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570 $199.99, Asrock Steel Legend X570 $217.48. Most of my setup is already ordered or nearby. AMD Ryzen 5900x Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 550 (temporary), Samsung 980 SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe ID-COOLING Iceflow 240 ID-COOLING XF-12025-ARGB-TRIO 3 Pack, 120mm 2 fans, Autolizer Quad 4LED Light Neon 120mm, LG 27UL500-W 27-inch UHD IPS, 1 fan. I personally prefer the Tuf Gaming x570 above all others. MSI is off-putting because of their aggressive tactics, bullying reviewers who leave negative feedback, and engaging in scalping. Gigabyte/Aorus have never provided a positive experience. Their BIOS is notoriously flawed, often missing features like XMP support. Asrock doesn’t seem to have any major issues, but I still suggest the Asus Tuf Gaming instead.
Asus isn't doing much better. Many customers are having their warranty claims denied for the simplest reasons. The person with the 2080ti got it rejected because of a scratch on the IO plate, and another had a monitor problem. Everyone seems to run into issues.
