Could you link two machines directly and run games from one even without the internet? Yes, you can share a NAS server that also holds your game files. This way, when the internet fails, you can still play using the stored data. If it stops working, connecting via Ethernet or USB might let you access the files directly.

Often internal SSDs offer quicker performance and lower costs while being simpler to configure compared to using a NAS with internet access.

You can connect a NAS without internet from another PC by using a local network connection, such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and configuring it to share files directly on the NAS.
