I was considering constructing a new PC to help with quarantine stress and low mood. When I checked Amazon, there were no GPUs available at MSRP or in stock. I thought about using a top-tier CPU with built-in graphics until the GPU shortage continues. Is this a viable approach? Which CPUs do you suggest?

It's not a wise choice. The problem is Intel's integrated graphics cards are significantly inferior to AMD's. While you might be able to run Fortnite in 720p on an Intel iGPU, performance for other applications will be poor.

It's a really great concept as long as you manage your expectations regarding the benefits of an iGPU. The specific CPU you receive largely depends on your budget. Edited April 13, 2021 by AnirbanG007

Yes, you'll have a chance to wait for the tide to pass. It's better than nothing and doesn't require a display output. Additionally, I wouldn't suggest an Intel CPU that costs significantly more than its Ryzen version, so that's settled.

Yes, it could be risky. While 11th gen CPUs often come with better GPUs, relying on them temporarily might not be ideal if your needs depend on consistent performance or stability.

It's acceptable under the scarcity, but I suggest going with the 11600K for its marginally improved IGPU performance.

For gaming, consider the 11700K—it offers superior integrated graphics and can handle CS:GO smoothly at 1080p or 720p.

Find a budget-friendly option with a solid B560 chipset. This will help you cut costs on the motherboard and CPU while leaving room for a better GPU when prices drop.
