I have a HP Pavilion laptop that's stopped working. It powers on and off every five seconds. I'm still trying to resolve the issue.
I also have another identical model, but it uses an AMD processor instead of an Intel Core i5. If I try to start it up, what would happen? I'm curious about the outcome.
Could you offer some guidance? Thank you.

Do you have any possibility of using the same hard drive, or would it be better to begin anew? Also, can I still retrieve data from the current hard drive by inserting it into an external enclosure?

Placing that drive in an external enclosure and linking it to another system should likely succeed.
As long as the drive isn't responsible for the laptop's failure.
Checking your data? Your files are safe.
You might encounter permission problems, but they can be resolved.
No other concerns here.

And testing it on various hardware? Unlikely.
AMD and Intel aren't the same laptop brand.
A Windows setup doesn't perform consistently across different systems.
