I remember when about a year ago I faced a problem with my mapped drives not reconnecting after a reboot unless I logged out and logged back in. I tried this fix by adding a registry value for each drive, which allowed them to reconnect on every restart. Although other fixes raised doubts, I’m hopeful this time it will work. Here’s what you should do:

1. Ensure the network drive isn’t already mapped and connected.
2. Open Windows Start.
3. Type “regedit” and press Enter.
4. Click Run as Administrator.
5. Accept permission changes.
6. Navigate to “Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Network\Z”.
7. Double-click “Z”.
8. Choose “Edit”.
9. Select “New” and name it “ProviderFlags”.
10. Right-click the new value and change “Value Data” from 0 to 1.
11. Click OK and close the Registry Editor.
12. Restart your system.
