One is an infinite fabric, the other is the memory controller speed (with 3200 MHz RAM sticks, actually it runs at 1600 MHz—3200 MHz is just marketing).

It’s understandable to question the setup. There could be risks if not configured properly. As for why 1:1 might be faster, it often relates to optimized resource allocation or reduced overhead.

it should handle it automatically with no risks. for the 1000 and 2000 series it would manage this seamlessly keeping a 1:1 ratio. i believe for the 3000 series they permitted separate configurations for those needing extremely fast RAM (above 4000 MHz), where the infinity fabric couldn't be overclocked further. the main benefit is reduced latency, especially when matching the RAM speed.

Sure, I get what you mean. It seems like the system might be struggling with performance. From what I see, it looks like they likely didn’t allocate enough memory, which could explain some issues. I’ll check things out more closely. Thanks!
