Idle temps de 13900 kWh
Idle temps de 13900 kWh
I've recently installed an i9-13900ks with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 A-RGB and Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme paste, paired with a 12/13th gen contact frame. While idle temperatures fluctuate between 35 and 51 degrees, this happens even when the system is completely off and the monitor is turned off. The code panel shows the CPU temperature, which varies widely. Previously, with a 10920x and Corsair H170i cooler, idle temps stayed steady around 30-31 degrees. This difference raises questions—are these new components behaving differently? I'm considering replacing the cooler, cleaning it, reapplying paste, or even reinstalling to check for issues. I went all out with quality paste and thoroughly covered the CPU. In DayZ gaming, temperatures stay between 60-70 degrees during 3DMark, dropping to about 100°C within seconds on the first part of the Time Spy test. The rest of the demo averages 70-97°C on Windows 10 using an ASUS ROG Maximus Hero Nvidia 4090 FE with a G.Skill 6400 32GB DDR5 XMP2 setup in BIOS, all cores enabled, Corsair 7000D case, and fans on the front and sides. Unless I'm missing something, normal idle behavior seems fine, but I want to confirm. Thermal paste efficiency might drop as temperatures rise. Thanks, Chris.
Yeah, pull it, reseat and repaste It could be a wonky temp sensor, but redoing it is low hanging fruit. be sure to tighten the mount screws evenly
Only enabling XMP suggests your board is pushing a lot of voltage without a clear reason. The occasional spikes are normal for a CPU that hasn’t been adjusted much. After slightly tweaking my 12600KF, the spikes improved significantly while idle temperatures stayed stable and load temps remained consistent despite the chip running faster than expected.
It's typical for contemporary CPUs to switch quickly between low-power states and high-performance modes when needed, which naturally leads to noticeable temperature changes. Choosing the KS option prioritizes the performance gains over minor thermal concerns.
LOL this is my assumption as well. And I'm perfectly fine with it, just much different than any CPU I've had prior. We're in a new era and I'm absolutely fine with that! I'll run 100c all day if that's what it's meant to do. I actually got the KS because I've seen lots of guys down-clock/volt them to K numbers and had way better heat and power efficiency with them. We already know in reality there's absolutely ZERO real world performance gain K vs KS, except in very specific benchmarks. I wanted "headroom" and options for cooling/power if it did become an issue.
It seems the main issue is consistent R23 readings. Otherwise, the performance depends on stable temperatures from strong voltage adjustments. If synthetic data isn’t aligned, newer processors may slow down significantly before causing crashes.
Sadly I rely on old assumptions from Haswell hardware and experimented freely, but even then my understanding is limited for most players. In reality, you’re mostly tweaking core ratios or voltage tables, adjusting them manually if needed.
As I continue reading, I'm beginning to suspect the TG paste could be the problem. It seems the issue might arise if I don't overclock enough to ensure it sets correctly. My MX-5 came with an AIO, and I've just ordered a MX-6 to compare. I plan to conduct further tests in the coming weeks and share my findings.
