Idle temps?
Idle temps?
I received my new case today and moved everything over. However, for some reason, my idle temperature stays at 40 degrees and doesn't drop below that. Before switching it on, it was around 25-27 during idle. After running 15 minutes of Cinebench R20, the load temps remained between 50-52. Once I started OCCT within 10 seconds, the same happened after 15 minutes. The load temperatures stayed consistent. I’m not sure if my idle readings are accurate. As you can see, OCCT reported the lowest at 28, while HWMonitor showed 50. HWMonitor was running during both Cinebench and OCCT tests. I switched from a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M *Mid Tower* to the Phanteks 719. The CPU cooler uses an NH-D15 with a single fan.
Load temperatures are crucial data points. Idle readings are less concerning. Consider allowing the system a few days to stabilize before checking. Switching to HWInfo64 might provide more accurate measurements. Boost values appear unusually high for this processor.
I ran a few restarts and it now reads correctly. On OCCT, Core Temp, HWMonitor and HWInfo64 just got installed. My idle temps are back to normal. People still think my load temps are high, but I’ve seen boost speeds reach 7GHz on all cores once. I’m not sure if that’s an error or something else. No problems at all so far.
HWMonitor often gives misleading readings. HWinfo64 tends to be more reliable and precise for voltage related to clock speed. At 2700x 3.7ghz P-state it reads 1.212v, which works well. At higher speeds the numbers change noticeably. Voltage adjustment quality drops significantly.
Above 4GHz it begins to consume more power. I managed to reach 4.4GHz but the voltage was close to 1.5v, which was a bit high. I ran OCCT and Cinebench R20 for 15 minutes each, and everything held steady without any crashes. I realize there wasn’t enough time. Temperatures rose toward 80 degrees, making it uncomfortable.
