The 3080 looks great and runs well. I'm hesitant about setting up an AIO because I haven't built one before and just finished assembling this PC a few days ago. I don’t want to spend more than I already have. Maybe I could try undervolting, but I’m not familiar with it. Any advice would be appreciated!

It seems confusing how boosting CPU power affects cooling. From what I understand, higher power usage usually generates more heat, so pushing it harder could actually make things warmer unless you adjust cooling settings properly. The idea of turning it off might be the safest way to prevent overheating.

I would verify your BIOS settings frequently, as the default is typically Auto, On, Off.

You might want to explore configuring a curve optimizer for PBO. I've adjusted mine to 200 PPT, 200 TDC 135 EDC, and my 5900x achieves 4.6-4.625ghz across all cores at about 75°C during load.

I turned off PBO and noticed a noticeable drop in idle temperatures while playing BFV. The temps stayed between low to mid-70s instead of low to mid-80s, with a peak around 78°C. Performance didn’t show a big dip, and the CPU consistently ran at about 4.5 GHz. This seems like a promising fix so far. I’m still unsure about the long-term impact of disabling PBO. It may reduce performance in certain tasks, cause slower responses overall, and if it doesn’t affect you noticeably, you can disable it.

RGB tools are problematic. They slow down performance significantly. Even G.Skill’s version excites users without reason, and my LEDs stop working. A 30c idle is acceptable, but mine drops to around the mid-20s in a 20c space. Performance varies based on the task being performed.
