Hello everyone, I’m a bit worried about the idle temperatures and voltages on my new Ryzen 9 5950x. In the BIOS it shows it’s idling at 50°C with a voltage of 1.468V, which feels really high. When I start Windows and open HWMonitor it drops to around 43°C and the voltage stays near 1.03V, but it still jumps up to 1.48V. Also, opening File Explorer in Windows causes it to spike to 50°C. I’m confused about what normal readings should look like since everyone seems to have different results online. Any advice would be super helpful! By the way, I’m using a Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler.
You might want to explore using the Curve Optimizer in your BIOS to achieve cooler temperatures.
BIOS readings are elevated as well. When I received the unit from the store in a package with a mediocre cooler (Akasa Vega Chroma), it was running at 80°C in BIOS. I corrected them for using a lower-quality cooler than advertised (Wraith Prism). I moved to the Deepcool AS500, which brought the temperatures down to match what you’re observing, though my voltage is now climbing to 1.480v. After a cold start, when I entered UEFI it dropped to 31°C, then quickly reached 50°C within a few minutes. The UEFI interface on my ASUS X570-F is actually problematic—it causes the cursor to stutter or lag.
Usually it's a bit lower at 5950x, I've noticed up to 1.53v before. My setup had 1.48v out of the box with single core and pbo all cores around 1.3v or less. Idle temperatures aren't a big deal. Just check your all-core load using Cinebench or Blender if needed. From what you shared, it's completely normal for Ryzen processors.

Review power options in Windows, then check the advanced settings. Ensure the CPU isn't set to maximum performance. Normal idle mode shouldn't reach that level.
You can always adjust the offset in BIOS and lower the CPU voltage. I had the same problem with my 3900X. Perhaps updating the BIOS on MoBo could fix it—definitely worth a try. I’d appreciate help from someone who owns that CPU, especially if the voltage is too high or not. My unit came out at 1,478 V initially, which is considered too high for it, even though AMD said DOCP is enabled.
