Hello everyone, I just assembled my first custom PC and everything seems to be functioning well until now. The only problem I’m facing is with internet connections. When trying to access websites or services that need an online link, the PC initially appears disconnected. After a couple of refreshes, it works properly. This also happens when logging into Steam or Battle.net—each time I have to try logging in 2-3 times before it succeeds. Once logged in, the connection remains stable without any slowdowns.

I’ve installed all drivers, verified with ASUS Armoury, checked for updates, and confirmed everything is running smoothly in Windows. There are no warning signs or errors. I have a link to my build here: https://cz.pcpartpicker.com/list/RK86b2.

If anyone can help identify the cause or suggest troubleshooting steps, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance for your support.

I’m configured with a standard networking setup. My connection to the internet uses either a short or long cable, depending on the router placement. Switches may be present in the environment. The router type isn’t specified here. For resetting networking on Windows 11 via Command Prompt, open it as administrator and run commands like "netsh int ip reset" or "netsh winsock reset." Restart your device for updates to apply.

Allan offers excellent guidance. Including SFC and DISM updates would be beneficial too. Please verify functionality across different devices to confirm it's a This PC solution rather than router/modem/ISP issues. Run a speed test via https://speed.cloudflare.com/ to check performance.

Hey everyone, thanks a lot for the support! Allan’s suggestion to restart the network via CMD really fixed it – problem solved! YAAAY! For those curious about other similar setups: My network configuration is quite basic – I have an older O2 modem, a router plugged into an outlet, and my PC connected via a 4-meter cable. The modem is on the opposite side of the building, and this was the most affordable and straightforward option a few years back… I’m aware it’s not ideal. I used this arrangement with my previous PC and everything functioned perfectly, so I assumed the challenge came from my own build experience. (Either I was learning on YouTube or spent $300 hiring someone to assemble it... so I ended up with a better GPU!) The issue appeared only on this PC – nothing else was impacted. Also, attaching my speed test results – please don’t laugh. I can only imagine your numbers, @OddOod.
