Identifying the issue in the resolution process
I recently received a new monitor, an LG UltraGear, and it functions perfectly. However, suddenly a problem occurred. Whenever I switch to stretched resolutions like 5:4 or 4:3 while gaming, I notice misalignment. It seems like one-third of the screen thinks it's 4:3, while the rest appears as 16:9 (visible from the cursor, wider-thinner). I've tried resetting the settings, reinstalling drivers, and even using a second monitor, but nothing worked. My GPU is an RX 580, which previously worked fine. 4wuh02.mp4
The OSD does not offer a scaling adjustment option; the 4:3 to 16:9 stretch is a legacy TV aspect ratio fix, not a display setting.
No available choice exists; moving any window in that problematic zone causes the display to shift to 4:3. Resetting monitor settings didn’t help.
