Identifying RAM problems and ensuring compatibility is essential for smooth performance.
I have a peculiar problem, not sure if anyone here might help. I recently upgraded my machine with 2x CMK16GX4M2A2400C16 and 2x CMK16GX4M2A2400C16R on an MSI Z270M Mortar board running an Intel 7600K. The issue is it didn’t post with the two red sticks, even after testing one stick per board. I thought they were defective. The strange thing is they worked on my friend’s AsRock Z170 board with a 6600K without any issues. After checking more details, the compatible set is Ver 3.31 while the incompatible one is Ver 8.3 (I think this relates to the specific DRAM chips). I’ve reset the BIOS after every failed boot or RAM changes. Should I try updating the BIOS or should I switch to different RAM?
