I constructed a machine in January 2018 using a B450 motherboard, Ryzen 2700X, 16GB 3200MHz RAM, and an RX580 graphics card. I planned to enhance my memory capacity since I aimed for similar specs from the original build. The system arrived on Friday, and I installed it immediately. Once powered on, everything functioned flawlessly. I installed several programs, including Wireshark, and had to reboot. After restarting, the RAM displayed 1866MHz in Task Manager. I attempted to adjust BIOS settings but noticed Ryzen Master was taking precedence over BIOS configurations, despite enabling A-XMP at 3200MHz. I updated chipset drivers, removed Ryzen Master, and managed to get BIOS to attempt 3200MHz operation. Still, BSOD errors persisted. I performed a CMOS reset on the BIOS, refreshed the BIOS, ran Memtest64+, disabled caching, and adjusted RAM settings. It stabilized at around 45 FPS in Counterstrike Global Offensive. Eventually, I switched A-XMP to Auto for RAM management. Now, performance feels sluggish, and the system lags significantly. All promised specifications are present, but optimization remains elusive.
Certain motherboards resist fully filling the RAM slots, particularly when using dual-rank modules. Check the user guide for single or dual configurations. Filling all slots with dual ranks typically limits performance to lower speeds. The Ryzen 2700x can officially reach up to 3000mhz.
It's true what was mentioned earlier. Your motherboard may not handle quad channel at 3200 MHz. You should check the manufacturer's site or the manual to see if it supports higher quad channel speeds beyond 1866. It could still work if it supports around 3000 MHz.
It could lag in CS Go too if the problem persists, and those titles might not serve as the ideal benchmark.
I researched different RAM options while assembling the PC, checking both the motherboard and memory brand listings. It should be available there, along with a 3200MHz 32GB (four 8GB modules) model from the same maker and matching specifications—just a GFZ variant. I’ll share some images once my system is back online and running. Searching RAM on a phone isn’t straightforward.
You're correct, it might be due to drivers not being available in the BIOS yet.
If delays persist after resetting your BIOS and removing additional RAM, it might not be just a BIOS issue. Consider repairing the system via the command prompt (or PowerShell) with admin privileges and run "sfc /scannow". If nothing appears, you can still restore it.
