Upgrading from Ryzen 3 2200G to Ryzen 9 3900X might not cause major bottlenecks since your GPU is a high-end 1650 SUPER. Your overclocked setup with 1530MHz cores and 7400MHz memory should handle the change well.

Upgrades are being considered because performance issues vary based on current tasks, quality of resolution, and more. It’s not a simple yes or no change. The system remains stable during upgrades, and future GPU improvements are still possible.

Yea there's more to a gpu than clock speeds lol. Why do you need a 3900x exactly? Workload? Bottleneck is always a thing, some workloads are cpu bottlenecked and others are GPU but in this case, what's your workload and why do you need a 3900x? Because if you're just gaming you're better off getting a 3600 and a better GPU as games don't scale up to 12 cores and the 3600 will perform similarly in games.

I spend a lot on gaming but also handle editing and animation, so I need a more powerful CPU. It's smart to future-proof too. For the GPU, I'm holding off until the new 3000 series drops, which should lower prices for the older models. I'm keeping you updated since I customized my GPU.

Truthfully, future proofing isn't really necessary. It depends on the project size—whether a 3600 or 3700x works well can be more than enough—and it's still a significant improvement over the 2200g setup with a better GPU.

I don't have a motherboard, but I can help you find information about it if you tell me your system requirements or what you're building.

That's my intention, but I don't have enough funds for a new GPU. I'm also considering waiting a while before purchasing, hoping the new Nvidia models will lower prices on older cards.

As mentioned earlier, a 3600/3700x setup might be sufficient for this task, but it depends on the project's size. If you're expecting ampere and big Navi, you should also consider Zen 3. That board won't handle a 3900x and will slow down the CPU.

New strategy then. I’ll upgrade the motherboard to an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F and the CPU to an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X. It should work.
