each time i turn on my pc, chrome launches with www.msn.com. i'm using windows 10 ultimate and often skip unknown startup programs. everything worked until yesterday when i booted up and it opened msn automatically. i tried removing it and reinstalling, but it kept asking me to choose a browser from the list (edge, ie, or chrome). is there malware forcing it to show that site at startup? what should i do to fix this? thank you ahead.

Visit www.msn.com, adjust your settings, and switch the search engine to Google.

MSN appears to be legitimate, but it's possible someone is testing download malware. Running a scan is a good idea to confirm.

It's a frustrating homepage, yet it's accurate!

It's not about the browser launching, but what triggers Chrome to open that page. You're right—it's the underlying cause, not the browser itself. For example, what initiates Chrome to open MSN.com at startup?
