Occasionally Rust runs smoothly but can slow down to 1 fps or cause lag. My setup includes an i3 4170 and a GTX 1060 with 3GB of VRAM.

It’s probably due to the game performing poorly. Low frame rates and audio issues are causing the performance drop.

Rust's performance isn't great, even with updates and improvements. It still struggles significantly.

It could be due to a nearby base being damaged. The relevant data will be omitted from the physics logs as requested.

Rust remains in beta and is expected to stay that way. This gives them a reason not to make improvements. It performs poorly across all hardware setups.

I was impressed because Rust worked smoothly with my FX-6300 and an older AMD card. After switching to a GTX 960 and an i5, it continued to function well. Now I have a 7700k and a GTX 1070, and it still runs perfectly. Just a note, Rust can face optimization challenges depending on the server and entities spawned.
