It's tough to decide with limited funds. I think skipping any discount would be a bad move for getting a quad-core processor with hyperthreading, but if you're on a tight budget... I'm not sure. Could used Ryzen components work as an alternative?

I hope they're okay. I might have to wait until I get back to work. That seems like the most reasonable plan—save up and upgrade later. In the meantime, I'll look for lighter options while I'm at it.

I reviewed the A320 mobile prices and they look quite affordable. It seems I might hold off until the 3600 model is available, perhaps around summer. The under 50 euros price point really appeals to me.

I’m not sure about purchasing A320 motherboards. It’s sufficient to manage the 3600, and I don’t believe the savings justify the performance drop versus the B450.

Usually I'm in favor, but when funds are limited, not everything gets done.

It seems the A320 will likely become outdated soon, so you'll probably need a newer model. You might also need to update the BIOS to support a 3600, which could require some effort to complete. A B450 would be a solid alternative, though costs and other factors matter.

The 3950X works well on budget B450 or even A320 boards without any issues. I didn’t mention PBO, so running it at stock speed shouldn’t cause problems—your motherboard’s VRM should handle it. However, jumping to a 16-core processor isn’t advisable; it won’t give you much room for overclocking and could damage the board. Most B450 models are sufficient for the 3950X or 3900X, but if you intend to push things hard, you’ll likely need to risk overloading the VRM. Using PBO might make it safer, though it’s not a guarantee.
