Identifying and resolving audio crackling and popping problems on a Windows PC
It seems like you're experiencing a consistent issue only on your own system, possibly related to audio processing. I understand why you're concerned and whether this pattern appears elsewhere. Could you share more details about the situation?
Yeah. When I attempt this specific action (the window alerts, the notification when opening something with admin rights, pausing and unpausing videos, etc.) on my old laptop, it doesn’t work like that. I’ve also tested the Bluetooth headset and it’s still the same.

Does your older laptop run Windows 11? If not, you can turn off these sounds or pick other options from "Change system sounds" in Control Panel, where you also set up playback and recording devices. However, I noticed the same thing on my own machine and it doesn't bother me. It seems more noticeable with brief sounds, likely because by the time the hardware begins playing it's already finished.
I could possibly disable all system noises, although previous attempts haven’t fully resolved problems like video pauses or unpauses. It might be a compromise worth considering.
Turning off system noises doesn't solve the main problem, making games unplayable, causing pops after shooting, or altering menus, or making engines crackle. This has been an ongoing issue for years; Microsoft hasn't addressed it properly.
