Identify the performance issue in Blender.
I'm working on modeling in Blender without rendering. My system includes an MSI Mortar B550M with a Ryzen 7 3800X, 40GB RAM, and NVME SSDs. I'm experiencing performance issues despite no visible stress indicators. The models often have millions of triangles before simplification for printing. The only apparent bottleneck is CPU usage during heavy tasks like loading or applying modifiers. Are these operations single-threaded? Should I consider replacing the 3800X with a Ryzen 5000 series? Would upgrading to Zen 3 matter more than increasing cores? Should I expand memory to 128GB? Based on benchmarks, improvements seem limited, but I'm seeking guidance.
There’s a lot going on with the model, so Blender might run a bit sluggish. A lot of calculations are happening, especially if you keep all modifiers active and don’t simplify them. If you’re using viewport shading or materials, that could be the problem. Turn those off and it should work fine. It’s actually quite solid for this task.
