Identify the part responsible for the stuttering in the games.
I cleared unnecessary items from my computer, focusing on hardware. Verified Windows Update and applied a security patch. Updated BIOS settings. Removed drivers using DDU (safe mode, internet off). Installed GPU drivers while still offline. Monitored temperatures during stuttering episodes. Followed the guidance at the provided link. Rechecked stuttering after changes. Made these adjustments on June 7, 2023 by Thomas5792.
Consider checking CPU performance, RAM stability, storage health, and system temperature in addition to your GPU.
Intel offered the quick storage driver, though it's unclear if AMD has a similar one. Those three options could serve as a solid starting point. Outdated drivers may lead to various problems.
I noticed two more concerns: your RAM and the M.2 drive. With 16 GB, verify if it's reaching capacity. If so, during gameplay, assets may be transferred to a swap file on your hard drive. Once background apps are closed, that might resolve the problem. I’m certain you have 32 GB, consuming about 10 GB just browsing. If your desktop sits idle with roughly 6-8 GB available, the issue likely lies in insufficient game data and texture storage being written to a swap file. The performance drops when using swap space, causing stuttering in games.
I have had some issue with on screen stats not showing the full memory usage, and I personally use Task Manger. In Win 11 there is neat feature, where you can set task manger to always be on top went it is open: Next to check drive usage, I would also just use the performance tab on task manger to get a decent overview while mid game.
You observed changes in performance across two screenshots. The first showed a noticeable spike in disk usage, while the second displayed minimal stuttering and stable disk activity. Additionally, you noticed a significant drop in GPU power consumption during mid-stutter events. This pattern isn’t clear yet—whether it’s typical or coincidental remains uncertain.
Why isn't your GPU operating at full capacity? Are you running it in sync? Your system's resources are under 50% utilization, yet you're experiencing stuttering. Keep investigating—it might be a software problem.
