Identify the issue with the Acer desktop that emits a beep upon powering on before shutting down.
Today I changed the thermal paste in my Acer Predator G3-605. When I tried to power it up, it would briefly turn on, then shut down after a second. The PSU and CPU cooler fans were running, and I heard a beep before it powered off. After cleaning the motherboard with an electric duster, I applied Arctic MX-5 to both the CPU and GPU die using Noctua alcohol wipes and Thermal Grizzly fluid. I kept my anti-static wrist straps on and stayed clear of touching the SSD. It seems I didn’t short circuit the board since it did turn on at all. Any advice would be appreciated.
I checked every single component—power cords, RAM, cards, and drives.
What kind of sound is it? A prolonged tone or a brief one? How numerous are the pulses?
A single short beep generally indicates everything is fine. Assuming it's a prolonged beep, which suggests a memory issue, try reseating the components and if it doesn't resolve the problem, test them individually.
