When I first assembled my PC, I installed two 8GB Crucial Ballistix modules for a total of 16GB of RAM. Later, I bought the identical set and added an extra 16GB, bringing the overall capacity to 32GB. Now I aim to boost the clock speed from 2133MHz to 3600MHz, but I'm facing difficulties. In BIOS, enabling XMP shows it's active, yet the speed remains unchanged. I've updated the BIOS, refreshed my AMD chipset settings, and even reset the CMOS. Despite these steps, the issue persists. I also swapped the RAM slots while keeping the original pairs intact. The motherboard's specifications were verified with the RAM, and everything seems compatible. I'm unsure what to do next.
CAS latency adjusts automatically. Trcd, Trp and Tras are managed by the system. When you power on, the PC may restart several times, taking 2 to 15 minutes, during which it will train memory timing and optimize performance.
I checked each set of sticks and the first pair performed as expected, 3600MHz 16-18-18-38 @ 1.35V. The second pair was listed differently—3600MHz 18-22-22-42 @ 1.2V. I changed the settings to match the second pair and the first pair’s voltage. After those tweaks, everything worked smoothly with four DIMM slots at 3600MHz. Thanks to everyone who helped with my post!
The second group was simply operating at 1.2v without XMP settings. Once you adjusted the voltage to 1.35v, apply the quicker 16-18-18-38 timing for everyone—this should resolve the issue.
btw two different motherboards and three distinct RAM kits are involved. I won't post with xmp at 1.35, but it's fine at 1.36. Sometimes the board adjusts to 1.36 automatically, other times not, so I'm setting it manually now.
