I bought a multimeter from my neighbor. During testing, could I use a paperclip instead of the wire? I've seen online examples of this, but I don't have any extra wires available.

Be careful to place the paper clip/jumper in the right ports and ensure it makes contact only with the intended areas. Avoid pushing it too deeply. It's safe to wrap the remaining parts of the paper clip with a small amount of electrical tape for added protection. Just a little extra attention goes a long way.
