I've been enjoying farcry 5 recently. At first, I was impressed by its performance and appearance, even at low resolutions. On my budget PC with an i5 2400 and a GT 1030, it ran smoothly even at 720p. However, after extended sessions, frame rates dropped significantly—from 40 to 24 FPS or lower. Sometimes the game would crash abruptly. When switching between maps and pauses, the lighting became overly intense for a short time. Running a helicopter or plane caused a sudden crash on my setup.
Switching to an i7-5930K with two 1080Ti graphics helped, but long sessions still led to crashes that escalated into hard failures. I checked temperatures; both GPUs stayed under 50°C, around 90% and 60%, never exceeding 50°C. Usage was about 40%. The issues remained consistent except for the flying mechanic, which I understand now.
The crashes seem more common as I move further north on the map. I'm curious if others are facing similar problems with farcry 5.
I've noticed some users experience lag when installing the game on an HDD, which improves with an SSD. Do all your two PCs use the same drive type, or is one using an SSD while the other uses a regular HDD?
