Your desktop and laptop appear identical overall, with only minor differences in hardware and games. Still, the icons in the two start menus seem drastically altered—Chrome and Chrome Remote Desktop now display a single large icon inside a dark box. This change is noticeable but not critical. It’s becoming an annoyance, and you’ve already reset your desktop without success. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I observed that following the major Windows 10 upgrade, they recently introduced changes. However, this hasn't affected me in any way.

Consider using the image from the functioning icon, save it to DropBox, transfer it to the new device, and set it within the app settings.

You should place the .ico file in the appropriate location specified by your operating system or application settings. Check the documentation for details on where to install it.
