Ideas for playing flight sim games while sitting at home.
I’d like to relocate my Flight Sim setup from the desk to the sofa occasionally. Here’s what I’m looking for: USB2.0 at the sofa to power 2 joysticks, a mouse, keyboard (or wireless options), and a microphone. I need to send the video plus audio to the TV. My PC has an AMD 6800XT and supports HDMI or DisplayPort. I don’t need to go beyond 4K at 60Hz. Currently, everything connects via Gigabit Ethernet. The PC and TV are close to a Raspberry Pi. The TV and sofa are about 10 meters apart, while the PC and TV are roughly 15 meters away. I believe the best option would be to add a new CAT7 Ethernet cable between the PC and TV, and use an HDMI-to-Ethernet extender that supports 4K at 60Hz. You could also use a long USB extender between the PC and sofa, but I think that might be too much. I tried Parsec and AMD Link on the Android TV for streaming, but latency was noticeable. I considered using the Raspberry Pi for encoding/decoding, though I’m unsure if that would help. Would installing two new cables be the simplest solution? Is there another way to reuse the existing Ethernet connection for the USB2.0 signal?
