If you don’t plan to upgrade the 285k, it stands out as the best choice. The benefit of switching to AM5 is a clear upgrade route. Intel doesn’t offer this option. If you desire even greater CPU speed, you’d have to replace everything from scratch, at least. AM5 brings a BIOS update and integrates the new CPU without needing a full reinstall. Rumors suggest AM5 will support not just Zen 6 but also Zen 7.
