Ideas for Achieving High Performance - 12600k OC at 5.1GHz with all cores
Hello! I just want so feedback on my successful overclock. I got a i5-12600k on a ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4 motherboard. XMP profile on 4 sticks of DDR4 3600mhz. BIOS Settings: I don't remember the specifics but, I did enter a throttle issue where the P-Cores would throttle if they reached 85c. I pretty much removed all limitations that would hinder the overclocking by throttling to early, voltage, i remove C-states etc, everything I could find to make sure my CPU is allowed to go to the 100c (tho I believe it throttles still at 90c or 95c even with limitations removed) CPU Overclock. I used Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and my settings are Core Voltage, Adaptive. Core Voltage set at 1,325 V. All Boosts and such are maxed, not touching AVX2 or similar. My overclock is meant to help my workloads which is hosting a server and gaming. It's stable with all P-Cores set to 51x. It did pass through the CPU Stresstest, all P-cores without a hitch with these settings. I tried 52x but even at a higher voltage, the temperatures would be to high and voltage surpassed 1.4v so sadly not possible. Monitor during CPU Stresstest The Core VIDs max out at around 1.37v maybe 1.38v. It's average is around 1.32v-1.35v. The CPU Package gets the hottest at 90c-93c. Tho average is around 80c. I feel this are very good numbers. With realtime use, CPU heavy games, the temperature is generally lower, but I wonder I might try lower the voltage as I only dipped maybe 0.3v from trying to get 52x and called it a day since it was very stable.
