I've been using this computer with the WStock fan since then. The only change I made was swapping the HD4890 for a GTX750Ti. I won't buy AMD again.
Besides that, my i7 920 still performs well compared to modern mid-range laptops.
That's quite an impressive upgrade!
😀
I own a Dell XPS I7 920 LGA 1366 and among the upgrades I've done was replacing the original cooler with an Artic Freezer Pro 7 Rev 2 (which I think has AMD mounting too), you can find the link here.
If you ever decide to replace it, it might be a good idea.
🙂
I've never used an AMD before but heard they tend to overheat. I don't like any stock coolers, whether AMD or Intel.

eaststreetz shared their experience using this PC with the Wstock fan. The main change they made was swapping the HD4890 for a GTX750Ti, and they won't buy AMD again.
Otherwise, the i7 920 still performs well compared to today's mid-range laptops.
That's quite an impressive upgrade!

wow... Really think about my message... It's strange. Time seems the biggest illusion we can ever face.

Nothing, i have been using this computer with the wstock fan since then. The only upgrade i did is replacing the HD4890 with a GTX750Ti. I will never buy an AMD again.
Apart from that, i7 920 still rocks for me when compared with modern midrange laptops.
Awe-fucking-some bump by the way
😀
I have a Dell XPS I7 920 LGA 1366 and among the many upgrades I did was replace the stock cooler with an Artic Freezer Pro 7 Rev 2 (which I beleive has AMD mounting as well), link is
here
. If you ever get to repalcing it, might be a worthwhile option
🙂
.
I've never had an AMD but had heard somewhere that they run quite hot. Am not a fan of any stock cooler, AMD or Intel.
Thank you sir
