Hi, after some research I have two choices for a new laptop, avoiding a heavy gaming model.
For the same price (800 eur) I found two Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro options: one with a 13500h 16gb DDR5 512gb SSD and another with a 3050 6gb and a 7840hs 32gb DDR5 1TB SSD, both with an integrated 780m video card.
I’m unsure which one to pick; I’m more focused on battery life, cooling, and quiet operation.
I mainly use it for browsing, AutoCAD, and other programs (civil engineering student last year).
For gaming I already have a PS5, so it shouldn’t be very demanding.

Can you share a link to both laptops you're considering? Either one will handle your tasks smoothly. From a thermal standpoint, be ready for laptops to act as heat sources, especially with recent Intel processors. You might manage the heat by adjusting power settings with ThrottleStop.
