I'm searching for some games suitable for your laptop. There are no strict genre preferences, but they should run smoothly without needing a mouse, which is convenient since you often don't have one. Your machine has an i5 8265u with 16GB RAM and a GeForce MX250 GPU—perfect for the types of games you like: racing/drift, survival, simple 2D or pixel titles, dungeon crawlers, and open-world experiences.

Essentially, any game requires a mouse, especially from racing titles. You might want to always have one handy—there are many compact options available.

Mention a title where you can't move through menus with the mouse, relying solely on touchpad and keyboard, while mice are essential only in shooters. Highlight games that favor top players and ones compatible with all hardware.

That's exactly what I was saying. While many shooter-style games rely heavily on a mouse, they're not essential for the rest of the titles. These are likely solid games, but I was referring to downloadable ones rather than online ones, since most of my gaming happens on a laptop while traveling.

You can enjoy Terraria without a mouse controller. It's a 2D game, though you may need to adjust settings. It costs some money too.

I've already spent more than 450 hours playing that game. Although it's decent, I think it wouldn't be very enjoyable without a mouse.

When on a bus or train, it's best to tune into some pre-downloaded podcasts or music. Offline activities aren't worth the time and drain your battery.

Some games aren't just shooters and need a mouse to play.
