I recently purchased an RTX 2060 but only have an Intel Core i5-4460. I also bought an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G and an ASUS Prime B450M motherboard. Was this choice wise, or should I think about swapping the CPU and/or board for better options? My budget is limited, and the parts haven’t arrived yet.
The 3200G includes built-in graphics, which isn't required with the RTX 2060. Others have pointed out that budget considerations are important for tailored advice.
If you exchange the 3200G, you’ll get $150 to buy another CPU. With a B450M board, you can upgrade significantly, but since you don’t want to use the built-in graphics on the 3200G, consider a CPU that supports dedicated graphics or stick with the 2060 for better performance.
With a larger budget, opt for the Ryzen 5 3600. If you're on a tighter budget, consider the Ryzn 5 1600 AF or Ryzen 5 2600.
